I was thinking back this past week on a particular time last year.
So let me set this crapshoot of a scene. Its in the middle of June.
The shop is JAMMED.
We have 10 cars in the shop having work done at some point in the day.
4 OF THEM ARE FULL BODY PPF JOBS
Its insane.
I had a massive problem on my hands. I had a huge proposal due for a dealership program I was working on and I was BURRIED under work.
I needed help but it seemed like the only way to ensure everything was done correctly was to do it myself.

Literally most of you, notice how the employees watch you do everything?
Sound familiar?
It didn't take long for me to realize that I had hit a breaking point.
I was stretched insanely thin, exhausted, and worst of all, I wasn't giving the team a chance. Instead of trusting them to take on responsibilities….
Burnout, both for me and the team was imminent.
Then a moment of clarity.
One employee I had at the time had remembered something I mentioned on a car that was a big deal to a client.
I ran out in to the shop to make sure it had been done and the employee said “you left a note on the car AND you told me, remember?”
That’s when it hit me….
TRUST IS EVERYTHING.

So, I took a step back and started to trust.
I delegated responsibilities, empowered team members, and let them take ownership of their roles.
It wasn't an instant transition, and there were bumps along the way, but I would do it all over again.
Our team began to really hit their groove…
They brought fresh ideas to the table, improved efficiency, and handled tasks with a newfound sense of responsibility….
It was like watching a well-oiled machine in action. And the best part?
I had more time to focus on the big picture, strategizing for the future, and ensuring our clients received the exceptional service they deserved.
Here is the lesson: Trusting and delegating are not signs of weakness; they are how you unlock your team's potential and your own.
It's about recognizing that you've assembled a group of talented individuals who are more than capable of handling their roles.
As business owners, we often wear many hats, but we don't have to wear them all at once.
The next thing I am going to here is: “But Gabe I need to baby sit my team, or they complain, need to be hand held, aren’t hard working etc”
Was this helpful for you?
The bigger problem here is, most of you don’t have the patience or understanding to realize that YOU are the problem.
and THAT is what I will review in the next email.
